Job Title: Communication Disorders Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Wisteria Place, a skilled nursing facility in Abilene, TX. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and residents.

About the Role

This is a per-diem position offering flexible scheduling and competitive pay rates. Our speech-language pathologists work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to develop individualized plans of care that address communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services as needed.
  • Consult and counsel patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
  • Document all required information in our electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must be a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist with experience working with adult populations. This position is open to therapists at all experience levels, and we offer opportunities for training and continuing education in areas such as dysphagia, dementia, and stroke rehabilitation.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $55-$70 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer benefits such as professional development opportunities, CEU classes, and a supportive work environment.
