Key Responsibilities

In the role of Lead Geotechnical Engineer, your duties will include:
  • Independently and collaboratively planning, executing, and finalizing geotechnical projects
  • Evaluating design and construction submissions to ensure adherence to project specifications
  • Conducting geotechnical evaluations and drafting comprehensive reports
  • Collaborating with design teams and contractors to apply recommendations effectively
  • Assisting in the formulation of technical scopes and cost proposals
  • Overseeing and guiding the work of junior and mid-level engineers
  • Engaging in Risk Informed Decision Making initiatives
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, or Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain licensure in the relevant state
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical or geological engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools
  • Familiarity with technical standards related to dams, levees, and hydraulic structures
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in a related discipline
  • Experience in construction management for infrastructure projects
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
  • Capability to lead a multidisciplinary project team
