Patient Service Coordinator III - Float Pool

At UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper, we believe in delivering exceptional patient care and creating a positive work environment for our team members. As a Patient Service Coordinator III - Float Pool, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and register patients for appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Verify patient eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications in collaboration with physician offices, Utilization Review, and Business Office Departments.
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 1 year of clerical experience in a medical office setting required; previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and possess a high degree of professionalism.
Working Conditions:

The job requires frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
