In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and functional operation of our correctional facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of maintenance tasks, from electrical repairs and plumbing installations to HVAC system upkeep and security equipment maintenance.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair all aspects of our correctional facilities, including buildings, security systems, and essential equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring the proper functioning of lighting, control devices, doors, and cell locks.
- Perform routine maintenance on kitchen appliances, laundry equipment, emergency lighting, and generators.
- Oversee HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and other building infrastructure to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure long-term facility integrity.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to procure necessary materials and services.
- Provide clear and concise reports on maintenance activities and progress to supervisory staff.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in general trades maintenance, preferably within a correctional or institutional setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance principles.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, contractors, and inmates.
