Matrix Providers is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain patient medical records and assist providers during exams
- Transport patients to other clinical areas as needed
- Check charts for signatures and diagnoses before returning them to Health Records
- Administer medication to patients under the supervision of a physician
- Obtain lab and x-ray results
- Answer phone calls and transcribe accurate messages
- Ensure equipment is removed from the clinic in a timely manner and notify appropriate personnel
- Assist with patient flow and provide direct patient care as directed
- Operate medical equipment, such as blood pressure monitors and thermometers
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests
- Prepare patients for X-ray and instruct them about medications
- Notify patients about labs and other tests as directed
- Participate in inventory procedures and coordinate with other departments and clinic staffs to provide complete care to patients
- Degree/Education: High school diploma and completion of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification and certification as a Medical Assistant by a recognized organization
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting
