Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and interpret cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and cardiac Doppler echocardiography.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology.
- Accurately explain procedures to patients and their families, and provide education on test results and follow-up care.
- Prioritize workload and recognize conditions that may affect the technical aspects of the test or procedure.
- Verify orders and follow protocol to perform the correct procedure and assign the reading physician.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain accurate records for IAC accreditation requirements.
- Assist in the initial orientation of patients and families to the unit, and provide teaching and information as needed.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, and assist with ambulation and positioning as needed.
- Maintain and stock supplies, and keep procedure rooms clean and organized.
- Meet productivity standards for the department.
- Certificate in Medical Sonography-Cardiac (RDCS or RCS) and BLS Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of one year of clinical echo experience.
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of methods, techniques, and operating principles involved in the operation of various ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to perform with proficiency the skills and procedures designated, and broad knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology.
