About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vascular Sonographer to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System Inc. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and thoroughly understand 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and cardiac Doppler echocardiography in the adult.
  • Conduct various vascular ultrasound procedures independently with good judgment to provide reliable diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and pathophysiology.
  • Accurately explain procedures to patients and/or family members.
  • Prioritize workload appropriately and recognize and report conditions that affect or compromise technical aspects of the test/procedure.
  • Practice infection control precautions consistently and maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean environment.
  • Verify written orders and follow protocol to perform correct procedures and properly assign reading MD.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned and comply with patient care/documentation practices targeted for improvement.
  • Accurately input data in computer to charge/credit patient-generated charges.
  • Maintain records for IAC accreditation requirements.
  • Assist in the initial orientation of patients and family to the unit and inform patients/family of policy regarding presence of family during test/procedure.
  • Provide teaching and information to patients and family as appropriate to needs, age, and level of understanding.
  • Assure patient comfort pre-, intra-, and post-procedure and assist patients with ambulation and positioning as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining sufficient supplies and operable equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies and keeping procedure rooms clean.
  • Assure that equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Meet productivity standards for the department.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Medical Sonography - Vascular (RVT) and Cardiac (RDCS or RCS) BLS Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 Years Echo/Vascular experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and operating principles involved in the operation of various ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to perform with proficiency the skills and procedures designated.
