Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Akeso Occupational Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs and recording patient histories.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens, including urine drug tests and blood glucose tests.
  • Assist physicians with minor surgeries and exams, preparing equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and test results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and ordering supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a healthcare field preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs).
