Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider is a vital member of our Rapid Response team, working collaboratively with medical and bedside nursing staff to respond to acute changes in patient status. This role involves performing comprehensive health assessments and managing patients with acute health problems, including obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations. The Advanced Practice Provider will write orders and progress notes as needed, assess and manage common health problems, and order and evaluate pertinent diagnostic tests. They will also prescribe pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological treatments for appropriate medical conditions, educate patients and/or families regarding disease process, medical intervention, and health promotion, and document patient teaching and patient discharge summaries as needed. The Advanced Practice Provider will refer and communicate pertinent abnormalities to the primary medical team, serve as a resource for nursing and ancillary staff in regards to patient and disease management, and address any clinical patient care issues, concerns, and follow-up as needed.

Job Requirements
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Jersey
  • Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
  • ACLS certified
Scheduling Requirements

37.5 hours per week, Nights

Essential Functions
  • Assist the Physician in the office, taking H and P, administering medications, performing physical exams, and participating in the flow of patients through the practice
  • Assist the physicians with various procedures/surgeries and assist with coordinating the case of the patient
  • Demonstrate an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routine
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a surgical health environment
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, communicate effectively, and demonstrate time management
  • Effectively prioritize work assignments and demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Implement the policies and procedures of the practice
  • Perform assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Physician
