Key Responsibilities:- Deliver direct patient care, including routine office examinations and procedures.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results.
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine general physical and mental health conditions.
- Assess and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders.
- Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic assessments to provide information on the patient's condition.
- Interpret the results of laboratory, x-ray, and other tests.
- Determine and implement the appropriate course of treatment.
- Provide treatment plans and prescribe medications for issues/diseases.
- Counsel and educate patients on medical, psychiatric, and substance abuse conditions.
- Document the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
- Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment as necessary.
- Educate patients on disease prevention and detection.
- Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Mental Health Practitioner school.
- Completion of specialized training and hold a postgraduate PMHNP certificate.
- Unrestricted license to practice Medicine in California as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Board certification as a PMHNP.
- Current DEA Certificate.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques in the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Broad knowledge base of physical, mental, and social needs of our underserved population.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards, infection control, and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
