The Teacher II is accountable for designing and executing an educational program tailored for preschool-aged children, adhering to the standards and protocols established by the organization. This role emphasizes fostering school readiness, engaging parents, and safeguarding the well-being of children entrusted to our care. Under the guidance of the Center Coordinator or Teacher III, the Teacher II ensures that program activities align with the objectives and desired outcomes of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively contributes to the application of the High Scope curriculum, leveraging organizational resources and insights from subject matter experts.
- Guarantees that all educational practices are developmentally suitable and significant to the learning experiences of children.
- Monitors and organizes classroom activities using data from COR Advantage, ensuring timely and thorough ongoing assessments of children.
General Expectations:
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Possesses the capability to interpret and implement organizational policies and procedures.
- Practices sound principles of child development, staying informed about current research.
- Exhibits effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be at least 21 years old. A minimum of a Child Development Associates certificate or equivalent is required (may be obtained within the first year of employment). A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood is necessary for the Teacher II and III positions. DOE 081 Certification (either provisional or permanent) is required for public school collaboration Teacher III roles.
