Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for overseeing the management of fleet assets for all business units related to the Transportation division at Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. In this role, the successful candidate will also manage external and internal business relationships as needed.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and manage business relationships between the Transportation division and internal/external divisions and leasing companies/vendors.
  • Work closely with Regional Transportation Managers and assigned location leads to ensure maintenance providers are adhering to and providing services as outlined in vendor agreements.
  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly performance reviews with providers to discuss areas of development and continuous process improvement opportunities.
  • Efficiently manage and negotiate the best fuel prices for the division, including discounts with commercial truck stops on a national basis.
  • Review, analyze, and provide recommendations related to fleet size and equipment needs.
  • Assist with preparation of requests for either disposal of equipment or acquiring new equipment.
  • Manage the sale of company equipment in a timely manner.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with negotiating the purchase and/or lease of Class A tractors and refrigerated trailers contracts.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations relating to equipment repairs, OOS violations, and equipment files.
  • Knowledge of Comdata management for fuel and lumper receipts.
  • At least 5 to 10 years in a similar role, supervising fleet operations for both owned and leased equipment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.).
  • Recommend knowledge of refrigerated equipment used to support refrigerated product operations.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial equipment maintenance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication (i.e. verbal and written) skills.
