Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Regional Transportation Manager is tasked with overseeing the Trucking Fleet operations at Del Monte Fresh Produce Distribution Centers. The primary objective is to maintain exceptional customer service, ensure timely deliveries, and uphold safety standards while managing costs effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily product distribution to clients, prioritizing service excellence and punctuality.
  • Lead a team comprising Drivers, Lead Drivers, and Dispatchers to achieve operational targets.
  • Manage the Tractor/Trailer Fleet for each Distribution Center in collaboration with the General Manager and relevant personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Evaluate and enhance fleet performance at assigned locations.
  • Foster vendor partnerships to improve service quality and minimize expenses.
  • Conduct regular assessments at Distribution Centers and Sales offices within the designated regions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and supply chain logistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong communication abilities.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems, particularly McLeod, is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
