Position Overview:
Kettering Health is a not-for-profit organization comprising 13 medical facilities and over 120 outpatient centers dedicated to serving the southwest Ohio community. Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Patient Registration I role include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating patient registrations while exemplifying outstanding guest relations and superior customer service.
  • Conducting reviews of all scheduled outpatient appointments to confirm that patients have been assessed for potential discounts.
  • Discussing payment sources and arrangements with patients to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Assisting patients in completing Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications when applicable.
  • Performing quality checks on accounts to ensure accuracy and demonstrating the ability to update all facets of a patient’s account.
  • Exhibiting knowledge of all compliance-related registration forms, consents, literature, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in registration or scheduling is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to meet pre-screening protocols and demonstrate proficiency in computer and phone skills, as well as customer service knowledge.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Capacity to learn site-specific patient processing software.
  • Proficient in computer usage, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Willingness to adapt schedule to meet staffing requirements.

Educational Requirements:

  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • One or more years of experience in a medical office or customer service setting is required.
