Job Title: Video Codec Quality Engineer

At Apple, we're looking for a skilled Video Codec Quality Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Video Engineering group, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality video technologies used in our products and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain video encode/decode, compression/decompression, and editing/post-processing technologies for iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS platforms.
  • Partner with R&D engineering teams to ensure the quality of video-related frameworks and drivers.
  • Test new features, validate developer check-ins, create new test cases, and maintain test racks.
  • Script test cases, bring up new SoC/HW platforms, and execute automated tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive complex projects and meet deliverables.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of SQA or related software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of Python and shell scripting experience.
  • Familiarity with iOS, macOS, and Unix.
  • Basic knowledge of Python, Swift, B&I, source control, and software life cycles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to closure in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of video codecs, H.264, HEVC, VP9, AV1.
  • Experience with Test Framework, Test Application, Test Tools, or XCTest/XCUI development.
  • Experience in HDR testing.
