Patient Care Associate

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist registered nurses in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a safe and compassionate environment.
- Provide physical care to patients, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, as per established guidelines.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and blood glucose levels, performing tasks as directed by registered nurses.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform patient rounds regularly and respond promptly to call lights to meet patients' needs.
- Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established standards.
- Organize patient rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Collect and label specimens according to established procedures.
- Provide mentorship and teaching to new nursing assistants to ensure performance expectations are met.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care is essential.
- Enrollment in a nursing, pre-med, or physician assistant undergraduate program with completed patient care rotations is preferred.
- Valid license, certification, or enrollment in a nursing assistant, medical assistant, mental health technician, or EMT-accredited program is required.
