WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Fabrication and Installation Supervisor is tasked with overseeing, guiding, and coordinating the fabrication and installation division to ensure that deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with AVI-SPL's quality benchmarks and best practices. This role also involves collaboration with Project Management and other departmental leaders to guarantee that all internal engineering, CAD, and programming outputs are prepared for field engineering, shop, and installation tasks. Additionally, the Supervisor will manage and coordinate external operations, including all outsourced or subcontracted work in support of project installation efforts. As a Fabrication and Installation Supervisor, you will mentor all technical personnel.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and lead the fabrication and installation workforce through recruitment, training, resource allocation, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and other department heads to ensure that necessary project documentation and deliverables are ready for fabrication and installation activities, working closely with lead technicians assigned to projects.
- Oversee the installation budget for the department and provide recommendations to upper management as necessary.
- Promote adherence to AVI-SPL's Installation & Fabrication standards and best practices.
- Ensure quality control of shop fabrication and onsite installation activities.
- Monitor labor expenditures to ensure they remain within budget.
- Coordinate fleet vehicle maintenance, equipment delivery, and related responsibilities, as well as field installation and troubleshooting support as required.
- Act as a liaison for customers in the absence of the Project Manager.
- Coordinate control system programming and field testing of integrated systems, as well as training clients on usage.
- Interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
- Utilize hand and power tools for tasks such as soldering and crimping connectors, along with various other AV systems-related activities.
- Perform installation tasks for audiovisual projects, including but not limited to pulling cables, installing connectors, mounting displays, and metal fabrication as needed.
- Assist with the transition of projects to the service department upon completion and with project sign-off when necessary.
- Travel to various job sites as required.

- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to manage small to medium-sized projects.
- Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Nice-To-Haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field (MBA or master's degree preferred).
- 4 to 6 years of installation management experience overseeing a diverse operation with multiple business units, preferably in the Audio Visual or Construction industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with construction or project management theories and practices.
- Familiarity with AV or other electromechanical systems is a plus.
- Minor programming capabilities (AMX/Creston) for changes and troubleshooting.
