Maintenance Technician I Job Description

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance repairs, as well as custodial and grounds-keeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance repairs to address issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining the swimming and hydrotherapy pools to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure the mechanical and maintenance areas are safe and sanitary at all times.
  • Perform custodial and grounds-keeping tasks, including cleaning, trash removal, and grounds maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of building systems and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or other trades.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, as well as safe and effective use of chemicals.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate: $21.49 to $23.49 per hour, depending on qualifications.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
