Trauma Registrar Job Description

At Connecticut Children's, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trauma Registrar to join our team. As a vital component of our Pediatric Trauma Program, this role is responsible for maintaining our institution's database of trauma evaluations and admissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify trauma patients and generate patient lists for medical record review.
  • Review patient medical records, abstracts, and code demographic factors, history, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome.
  • Enter and maintain patient data in trauma registry databases and research databases.
  • Generate reports as needed for institution, state, ACS, and JCAHO purposes.
  • Assist the Trauma Program Manager in administering the daily functions of the Trauma Program.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Medical Record Technology or two years of experience in Health Information Management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with Electronic Health Records (EPIC preferred) and communicate effectively with the Trauma Program Manager and other team members.
