Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join our H-E-B Digital team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing modern, engaging, and scalable experiences for our growing audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of applications.
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to create exceptional customer experiences.
  • Identify, scope, and architect solutions for new features, applying sound technical judgment and considering technology alternatives, impact on affected systems, and tradeoffs.
  • Provide peer review and quality assurance support to other engineers and receive feedback on all code output.
  • Grow and be mentored in engineering techniques, processes, and new technologies.
  • Learn new technologies, frameworks, and systems and share knowledge with the web team.
  • Collaborate with other platforms (iOS, Android, backend engineering) to build scalable systems that support the H-E-B infrastructure.
  • Communicate individual and project-level development statuses, issues, risks, and concerns to technical leadership and management.
  • Mentor junior developers and teach best practices on architecture and technology decisions.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of application development experience and comparable schooling (CS degree, bootcamp diploma).
  • Experience with common software engineering tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Team mentality and willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable field, or equivalent self-study.
