Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Fee Technician to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a Recreation Fee Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting and managing revenue from park visitors, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and manage revenue from park visitors, including operating a point-of-sale system and ensuring accountability of funds.
  • Use automated financial systems to perform accounting and financial transactions, and resolve software issues that arise in the remittance and/or fee collection process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering questions and explaining recreational opportunities and services.
  • Work collaboratively with park staff to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement.
  • Ability to handle, collect, and account for money.
  • Ability to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or shift work.
  • Ability to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of official duties.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must possess one of the following:

  • A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of Recreation Fee Technician.
  • B. Successful completion of one full year of graduate-level study (18 semester hours or equivalent) that directly applies to the work of the position in a field such as accounting, business, or finance.
  • C. Possession of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
