**Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Kdb+/Q expert to join our Equities Data & Analytics Team in New York. The successful candidate will create innovative analytics solutions, manage large financial databases, and collaborate with traders, quants, and developers to design efficient and robust solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working with large financial data sets, including market data, order/execution data, and positions data. They should also have expertise in Kdb+/Q, Unix/Linux environments, and agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mange and manipulate large historical data sets
  • Implement reusable Gateway functionality
  • Implement functionality based on defined API
  • Use and implement library-grade software
  • Automating quality checks across transactional, market and reference datasets
  • Ensure clean and efficient coding practices and adherence to industry best practices
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and other developers to design and implement efficient and robust solutions
  • Writing documentation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working with large financial data sets, such as market data, order/execution data, and/or positions data.
  • 5+ years of Kdb+/Q, experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills/ Confident in communicating with stakeholders
  • Ability to learn new technologies and business knowledge
  • Other language experience is a bonus i.e Python, Java, Unix/Linux
  • Experience of agile methodologies will be an advantage

Estimated Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is around $175,000 per year, based on the location and qualifications.
