We are in search of a Healthcare Assistant Trainee to support our primary care facility.

This training opportunity will offer the selected candidate valuable experiences, including:

  • Managing incoming calls
  • Welcoming patients
  • Updating medical records
  • Completing insurance documentation and prior authorizations
  • Assisting healthcare providers with referrals, admissions, and lab requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measuring vital signs and weight
  • Administering injections
  • Supporting healthcare providers
  • Distributing medications
  • Screening provider calls and addressing inquiries
  • Conducting TB tests for new staff
  • Managing medication distribution, including patient assistance programs
  • Training to cover for other assistants and their responsibilities
  • Proper disposal of hazardous materials
  • Communicating with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions
  • Upholding confidentiality and exercising sound judgment in accordance with CMA standards and departmental protocols

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Medical Assisting program that includes an externship component
