Our offices are strategically located throughout the Midwest, including key states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Our mission is to uncover and share the rich tapestry of our cultural and natural heritage. This role is available in our Indianapolis, Indiana or Columbus, Ohio locations.

We are in search of a highly qualified professional with a deep understanding of prehistoric and/or historic archaeology in the U.S. Midwest. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing project proposals, leading fieldwork, conducting laboratory analyses, drafting reports, managing client relationships, and engaging in business development activities. Travel across the Midwest and neighboring states will be a requirement, including overnight stays for field assignments.

We are looking for candidates who:
  • Possess a Master's degree in archaeology with a robust background in prehistoric and/or historic archaeology within the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
  • Have 3-5 years of supervisory experience and a proven history of successfully leading surveys, site evaluations, and data recovery excavations.
  • Are prequalified or can become prequalified to conduct all phases of archaeological investigations as required by relevant state departments.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to perform detailed research and synthesize complex data.
  • Are proficient with standard office software and can collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Are adaptable and capable of conducting various field investigations independently or under the guidance of a Project Manager, in diverse terrains and weather conditions.
  • Can prepare technical reports, assist with environmental documentation, coordinate project updates, and manage schedules and budgets.
This position requires candidates to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and E-verify check without issues. Hired applicants will also need to provide proof of automotive insurance coverage.
