Psychiatric Technician II

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician II to join our team at Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care to clients who are mentally ill or emotionally disturbed.
Key Responsibilities- Observe, evaluate, record, and report changes in client condition to professional staff.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including helping clients with personal hygiene and taking and recording physical condition measures.
- Prepare forms related to emergency calls, client evaluation, and record maintenance.
- Implement de-escalation procedures and techniques to prevent injury to clients or others.
- Participate in planning, executing, and documenting interventions related to client care plans.
- Collaborate with mental health staff to develop and manage effective treatment plans.
- Provide mental health services to clients, including administering prescribed medications and serving as a mental health service gatekeeper.
- Coordinate activities of Psychiatric Mobile Response Teams and Clinical Behavioral Management Response Teams.
- One year of experience assisting mental health professionals in delivering preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative psychiatric services to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill clients at the level of Psychiatric Technician I.
- Current, active, and unrestricted California State License to practice as a Psychiatric Technician.
- Valid California Class C Driver License (for some positions).
