Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team at Harvis, Inc. This role is responsible for overseeing the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and grant management.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and a minimum of three years' experience as a non-profit and/or corporate accountant.
This position offers a competitive compensation package, with an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and grant management.
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
- Manage up-to-date accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
- Prepare and maintain records for non-profit fund accounting.
- Reconcile bank statements and deposits.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Work with the Corporate Controller to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial audit/grant reporting activities.
- Maintain the fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
- Track and maintain company insurance policies.
- Monitor day-to-day accounting processes to identify opportunities for quality and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum three years' experience as a non-profit and/or corporate accountant.
- Solid working knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures, computerized accounting systems, Excel, and QuickBooks.
- Prior experience working in a nonprofit environment is strongly preferred.
