Key Responsibilities- Strategic and Cultural Leadership: Champion the company's safety vision, objectives, and strategies to foster a culture of safety excellence. Lead division safety planning efforts, aligning safety initiatives with corporate goals and objectives.
- Talent Management and Development: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, empowering direct reports to drive safety initiatives and achieve organizational goals. Partner with division leadership to develop succession plans and talent pipelines to ensure continuity and sustainability in the division safety department.
- Safety Management: Oversee all aspects of safety program management across multiple job sites, including out of market locations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate hazards.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid required.
- OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training required.
- OSHA 500 and CHST certifications required.
- CSP required.
- 12+ years' experience successfully displaying progressive responsibility in managing safety programs on large-scale construction projects or similar environments.
- 5+ years' experience managing internal safety teams and third-party consultants, with a track record of developing and growing employee skills and guiding career development.
- Extensive knowledge of construction-related OSHA, MSHA, Federal, State, and local regulatory standards and strong communication skills to effectively convey safety policies.
- Experience working for a union contractor and managing collaborative safety programs, with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- Ability to collaborate with clients, trade partners, and field leadership.
- Experience managing multiple projects in multiple states.
