Advanced Practice Nurse

Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner is accountable for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patient care in conjunction with a designated Physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage patients presenting with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor injuries in partnership with a Physician.
- Work collaboratively with the physician to oversee the healthcare of patients with chronic conditions.
- Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic healthcare issues.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventive care, healthy behaviors, medical concerns, and the proper use of prescribed treatments and medications.
- Maintain precise, clear, and confidential medical records.
- Document all medical assessments, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, and referrals accurately.
- Act as a Medical Examiner and conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.
- Order necessary diagnostic tests as needed.
- Prescribe medications within the boundaries of the licensure.
- Facilitate the review of records by physicians and peers to uphold quality standards and implement constructive feedback.
- Encourage preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and the effective use of prescribed treatments and medications through education and counseling.
- Stay updated with the latest knowledge from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and integrate it into clinical practice.
- Ensure regular attendance to maintain efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (PANCE).
- Experience in providing care for patients across all age groups.
- Skilled in performing minor procedures.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency department (ED), or primary care settings.
