Job Description

Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner is accountable for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patient care in conjunction with a designated Physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients presenting with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor injuries in partnership with a Physician.
  • Work collaboratively with the physician to oversee the healthcare of patients with chronic conditions.
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic healthcare issues.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventive care, healthy behaviors, medical concerns, and the proper use of prescribed treatments and medications.
  • Maintain precise, clear, and confidential medical records.
  • Document all medical assessments, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, and referrals accurately.
  • Act as a Medical Examiner and conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.
  • Order necessary diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Prescribe medications within the boundaries of the licensure.
  • Facilitate the review of records by physicians and peers to uphold quality standards and implement constructive feedback.
  • Encourage preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and the effective use of prescribed treatments and medications through education and counseling.
  • Stay updated with the latest knowledge from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and integrate it into clinical practice.
  • Ensure regular attendance to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (PANCE).
  • Experience in providing care for patients across all age groups.
  • Skilled in performing minor procedures.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency department (ED), or primary care settings.
