About This Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting position is a key role within the Global Controllership organization, responsible for providing guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting literature and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate new accounting standards, preparing technical memos and assessing their impact on current accounting policies.
  • Work with the global controllership organization to implement new accounting pronouncements effectively.
  • Analyze and understand complex transactions, advising business partners on their structure and accounting.
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to ensure consistent implementation of accounting guidance and disclosure.
  • Provide training to the global accounting team and broader finance organization on technical accounting matters.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to address accounting matters.
  • Actively pursue continuous process improvement with respect to current accounting processes.
  • Preserve institutional knowledge and expertise critical for handling complex accounting issues.
  • Support strategic goals by ensuring financial insight and accounting support are available for strategic planning and business activities.
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to accounting standards and regulations, minimizing risks of noncompliance.
  • Maintain workflow and productivity within Controllership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university.
  • Licensed CPA certification.
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience in technical accounting and/or advisory within public accounting or combined public/industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical accounting experience with Big 4 or other global accounting firms.
  • Strong current knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Securities and Exchange Commission reporting.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.
  • Action-oriented, decisive approach to work required, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure deliverables are met on time.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex accounting issues at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Critical thinker who can foresee potential obstacles and propose alternative approaches.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products with very strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledgeable in accounting processes, controls, and SOX requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of documentation and retention requirements for external PCAOB audits.
