Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse II in Pain Management is responsible for the comprehensive assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care within an acute care environment. This role emphasizes the provision of holistic and tailored care to patients in a designated area. The nurse will develop, implement, and manage a care plan that considers psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals through effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to enhance the patient experience.
  • Provide direct patient care and facilitate patient/family education and transitions of care.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of practice.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Proficient understanding of nursing theories, concepts, and practices, along with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Familiarity with healthcare industry standards, safety protocols, and patient care best practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.

Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing patient care and meeting deadlines.

Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in a dynamic environment.

Capability to engage effectively with team members, patients, and families during challenging situations.

Utilize established procedures and critical thinking to address routine and complex issues.

Maintain the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Work Schedule:

Days, Full Time, 8-hour shifts, with variable days of the week.
