Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Reefer Peterbilt. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and estimating repairs on diesel engines and other heavy-duty equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic testing to identify and repair issues with diesel engines and other heavy-duty equipment
  • Estimate repair costs and time required for each job
  • Clock time to each job performed and document causes and corrections on all repair orders
  • Follow warranty procedures as set forth by management
  • Perform maintenance inspections and determine when part replacement is necessary
  • Repair major power and drive train components
  • Perform road tests to verify repairs were completed properly
  • Contribute to the top productivity and efficiency of the department
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment that complies with OSHA and company standards
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • A Secretary of State issued Training Certificate or Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate/License and/or Trainee Permit in HDT
  • Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift & carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess strong communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, CDL a plus, and can be obtained during employment and comes with a pay premium
  • General computer knowledge and the ability to learn as needed
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, background, and MVR check
