Job Title: Permanency Specialist

At SJRC Texas, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanency Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Permanency Program, you will play a vital role in promoting the well-being of children in our care and supporting families in achieving permanency.

Job Summary

The Permanency Specialist will be responsible for managing a caseload of Permanency cases, assessing the need for placement, safety, family strengths, and needs, and planning for and facilitating permanency. You will work closely with public and private agencies, caregivers, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Permanency cases, including assessing the need for placement, safety, family strengths, and needs.
  • Plan for and facilitate permanency, including coordinating with caregivers, families, and public and private agencies.
  • Conduct home visits, assessments, and case planning conferences as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans for children and families, including providing support and resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including case notes, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and policies.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare or a related field, plus two years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work in an emotionally charged environment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to travel and attend child and family visits, as well as other work-related appointments and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare or a related field.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare or a related field.
  • Training or certification in child welfare, family reunification, or a related field.
Working Conditions

The Permanency Specialist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent travel to home visits, meetings, and other work-related appointments. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
