Radiology Specialist Job Description

As a Radiology Specialist in the US Army, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using X-ray and related equipment. This is a unique opportunity to serve your country while developing your skills and expertise in medical imaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of radiographic examinations, including body section radiography, foreign body localization, and prenatal and pediatric imaging.
  • Operate and maintain radiology equipment, including fixed and portable X-ray machines.
  • Prepare and adjust instruments, materials, and equipment for imaging procedures.
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on radiology equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Training and Benefits:
  • Receive 10 weeks of Basic Training and 46 weeks of Technical School with on-the-job instruction.

Requirements:
  • Be between 17-34 years old.
  • Have no felonies (including deferred adjudication).
  • Be a current high school senior, high school graduate, or GED equivalent.
  • Be a permanent resident or US citizen.
  • Meet physical standards based on gender and age.
  • Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
