The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory settings, with experience in GLP/GMP environments. They will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Record status of Life Safety Equipment (LSE) inspections throughout campus as needed on a monthly basis.
- Record supply levels, stocking, and condition of safety equipment that may require repair, maintenance, or replacement.
- Examine stocking and supplies for expiration dates in safety cabinets and other LSE locations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection dates for all locations for each month.
- Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
- Record usage of safety supplies and order replenishment requests.
- Perform stockroom duties to maintain a neat and orderly environment, including receipt, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, expediting, and other functions.
- Perform equipment verifications, measurements, and calibrations following customer and manufacturer protocols.
- Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional areas.
- Participate in individual or group projects that may include cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and leading team meetings.
- Maintain safety awareness by authoring Work Instructions, assisting with Job Hazard Assessments, and performing PPE assessments.
- Provide technical expertise and training to ULS staff.
- Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs, and work instructions, taking direction from the Site Supervisor regarding daily duties.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- 1 year of related experience within a laboratory setting is helpful; experience in GLP/GMP environments is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and cultivate positive customer relationships.
- Proven excellence in customer service skills.
- Computer/software skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to self-manage and operate independently.
Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a competitive salary range of $22.00-$25.00 per hour, based on location and experience.
