Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Safety Professional with experience in high-voltage electrical (HVE) projects. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing robust safety protocols across construction sites. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of expertise in general construction safety and specialized knowledge in managing the risks associated with high-voltage environments.


Job Description


The Construction Safety Professional will oversee the implementation and enforcement of safety policies on various construction projects, including those involving high-voltage electrical systems. This position requires a proactive approach to hazard identification, risk mitigation, and fostering a strong safety culture. The candidate will work closely with site leadership, contractors, and teams to ensure a safe and compliant workplace, especially in high-risk environments.


Job Responsibilities


Safety Program Management:

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety programs tailored to general construction and high-voltage electrical work. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements. Conduct site audits and inspections, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.

HVE Safety Oversight:

  • Monitor and manage safety protocols for projects involving high-voltage systems. Provide specialized training and guidance on working safely in high-voltage environments. Coordinate with electrical teams to assess and mitigate specific risks related to HVE operations.

Training and Communication:

  • Conduct safety orientations and regular toolbox talks for all site personnel. Deliver targeted training sessions on construction and high-voltage safety best practices.

Incident Management:

  • Investigate incidents or near-misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures. Prepare and maintain detailed reports on safety performance and incident trends.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, forepersons, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during audits or inspections.


Job Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience, with at least some exposure to high-voltage electrical (HVE) projects.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly those related to construction and electrical safety.
  • Certifications such as CHST, CSP, ASP, or similar safety credentials are highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence teams and foster a safety-first culture.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.
