Job Title: Employee Health Nurse

Tri-State Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Employee Health Nurse to join our team in Goodland, KS. As a key member of our 43-person strong team, you will be responsible for providing direct employee health services to clinical and non-clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct employee health services to clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with Nurse leadership, Human Resources, patient care staff, and other departments to plan, implement, and deliver employee health services.
  • Ensures competency of all new and returning staff.
  • Establishes and implements employee health orientation programs throughout the facility.
  • Works with Human Resources to establish onboarding policies and procedures, including PPD, influenza vaccinations, and pre-employment/random drug screenings.
  • Manages pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, annual N95/TB/influenza testing and/or vaccinations, and the management of potential blood exposures, employee illnesses, and disease outbreaks.
  • Participates as an integral team member, collaborating with various departments and colleagues to advocate for employee health and safety.
  • Maintains complete and accurate employee health records and supports administration with employee health databases.
  • Provides patient care services in staffing facilities.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a current Kansas and Colorado nursing license, or compact license in good standing.
  • Minimum one year acute care experience.
  • Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications.
  • Willingness to work in Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Long Term Care.
  • Non-Smoker.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within the area of nursing expertise.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues through the use of a combination of delivered and custom-developed tools.
  • Ability to compile, code, and categorize, or verify information/data.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is performed in an interior medical/clinical environment.
  • Light physical activity, with occasional assistance of others in the manipulation of heavy objects and some standing or walking, usually for not more than 2 hours a day.
  • Work may involve some exposure to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.
