Job Title: Employee Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Employee Health Nurse to join our team at Tri-State Staffing in Goodland, KS.

Job Summary

The Employee Health Nurse will provide direct employee health services to clinical and non-clinical staff, collaborating with nurse leaders to incorporate processes and ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct employee health services to clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with Nurse leadership, Human Resources, patient care staff, and in the planning, implementation, and delivery of employee health services.
  • Ensure competency of all new and returning staff.
  • Establish and implement employee health orientation programs, alongside the nurse leadership, throughout the facility.
  • Work alongside Human Resources to establish onboarding policies and procedures to include; PPD, Influenza vaccinations, and pre-employment/random drug screenings.
  • Will be responsible for all pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, annual N95/TB/ Influenza testing and/or vaccinations, and the management of potential blood exposures, employee illnesses and disease outbreaks.
  • Participate as an integral team member, collaborating with various departments and colleagues, including Director, Human Resources, and others as needed to advocate for employee health and safety.
  • Support administration with employee health databases, maintains complete and accurate employee health records.
  • Provides patient care services in staffing facilities.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current Kansas and Colorado nursing license, or compact license in good standing.
  • Minimum one year acute care experience.
  • Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC Certifications.
  • Willingness to work in Emergency Department, Acute Care and Long Term Care.
  • Non-Smoker
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within area of nursing expertise.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues through the use of a combination of delivered and custom-developed tools.
  • Ability to compile, code and categorize, or verify information/data.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Work is performed in an interior medical/clinical environment.

Light physical activity. Work may involve occasional assistance of others in the manipulation of heavy objects and some standing or walking, usually for not more than 2 hours a day.

Work may involve some exposure to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.
