Job Summary

The Sales Account Representative is responsible for generating advertising revenue by building relationships with local businesses and convincing them of the merits of television advertising. This role requires a strong understanding of the media industry and the ability to develop and implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain credible relationships with local business owners and decision-makers
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow revenue and exceed sales goals
  • Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients to promote television advertising
  • Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts to increase revenue
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients to explain the benefits of television advertising
  • Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media
  • Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media
  • Work with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements that meet their needs and goals
Requirements and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum one year's experience in sales, preferably in the media industry
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing strategies to achieve them
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment
