Registered Nurse

UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join their team in the Behavioral Health Department. This is a day shift position, with hours from 6:30am - 7:00pm, including every other weekend and every other holiday.

Responsibilities- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment, formulating daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
- Communicate Effectively: Practice solid communication skills, articulating and translating the patient's condition to other care providers and negotiating and making recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices.
- Document Patient Care: Document patient care comprehensively, promoting communication between caregivers and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Identify opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement, applying evidence-based practice as a regular aspect of professional practice.
- Develop and Mentor Others: Develop and mentor others, precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires, and analyzing clinical and behavioral situations to improve patient care practices.
- Lead and Participate in Quality Initiatives: Lead and participate in quality initiatives, serving on teams and leading successful teams as a part of daily practice, and demonstrating highly developed clinical assessment and analytical skills within the context of Relationship Based Care.
- Education: Minimum 2 years experience. BSN preferred.
- Licensure and Certification: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located. UPMC approved nursing certification preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
