Advanced Gastro Physician Assistant

The Advanced Gastro Physician Assistant plays a vital role in the day-to-day needs of patients under the supervision of a physician. This position requires a strong understanding of medical standards and the ability to work effectively in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain accurate patient histories and present information to the supervising physician.
- Chart patient information via written, dictation, or electronic means, including admission notes, history and physical examinations, and daily patient encounter notes.
- Prescribe medications under the supervision of a licensed physician, adhering to federal and state laws and regulations.
- Assist supervising surgeons in the operating room and assist supervising physicians in procedure rooms.
- Write post-operative/post-procedure notes and orders for supervising physicians.
- Manage post-procedure patient care, including starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and ordering transfusions.
- Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as initiative, accountability, and responsibility.
- Participate in research trials, collecting and entering data.
- Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs, communicating effectively with patients and their caregivers.
- Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program.
- Physician Assistant License.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
