Job Summary
The Environmental Service Worker is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation within our facilities. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a hygienic and pleasant atmosphere for residents and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Washes windows, dusts furniture, and maintains the cleanliness of walls and fixtures.
- Conducts specialized cleaning procedures, including disinfection of surfaces and equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness in nursing stations, hallways, lobbies, and dining areas.
- Restocks cleaning supplies and linen carts as needed.
- Empties and sanitizes waste receptacles.
- Handles laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding linens and garments.
- Delivers clean linens and garments to designated areas, ensuring timely distribution.
- Operates sewing and mending equipment when necessary.
- Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols, including those related to HIPAA standards.
- Acts as a Mandatory Reporter as defined by applicable regulations.
- Performs additional tasks as required to support the team.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED, or have relevant experience in cleaning or laundry services. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical examination and background checks.
Essential Skills and Abilities
Candidates should demonstrate a general understanding of cleaning supplies and equipment, and possess the ability to follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
This position requires various physical abilities, including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. The role involves standing, walking, and performing tasks that require bending, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biological hazards necessitates the use of personal protective equipment.
