About the Role

GavinHeath is seeking a highly skilled Staff Revenue Accountant to join our team in a Direct Hire position. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of revenue recognition and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Recognition: Execute reviews of sales contracts to ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 guidance and company policies. Escalate significant and/or non-standard deals to the Technical Accounting team as needed.
  • Financial Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely movement of sales data from Salesforce CPQ to Sage Intacct for revenue recognition and client invoicing.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Partner with Service Operations to ensure accuracy of time and billing rates in Origami's time tracking system and move this data into Intacct for accurate and timely revenue recognition.
  • Support and Analysis: Assist the Sales and Sales Operations Teams with requests related to standard revenue recognition and other matters. Provide support to the Accounts Receivable team with client terms and invoicing requirements per contract.
  • Financial Reporting: Complete month-end close activities, including revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue reconciliations. Assist with determining monthly revenue analysts and forecasts.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives for the Order to Cash process. Conduct research and collaborate on preparation of documentation associated with accounting standard adoptions and policy updates.
  • External Audits: Assist in external financial audits, including preparation of PBCs/supporting schedules and providing timely responses to audit questions.
  • Accounting Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition. Collaborate on ad-hoc project work as assigned by the Technical Accounting Team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Accounting at a SaaS company. Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP; experience handling complex accounting matters and demonstrating competency in US GAAP, current accounting regulations, and internal controls. In pursuit of or possessing a CPA license is a plus. Experience with Salesforce CPQ and/or Intacct is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: The ability to partner with and influence cross-functional personnel.
