Police Officer

The City of Oxnard is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our Police Department as Police Officers. As a Police Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within our community.

Under general supervision, Police Officers perform a wide range of duties, including:

• Patrolling assigned areas to prevent and detect crime
• Responding to emergency calls and providing assistance to the public
• Investigating crimes and gathering evidence
• Apprehending suspects and making arrests
• Providing information and assistance to the public

As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Protecting the public and enforcing laws and regulations
• Responding to emergency calls and providing assistance to the public
• Investigating crimes and gathering evidence
• Apprehending suspects and making arrests
• Providing information and assistance to the public
• Working collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations

To be eligible for this position, you must:

• Be at least 21 years old
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have a valid California driver's license
• Have a Basic Certificate issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)
• Be bilingual in Spanish and English (desirable)
