Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

ValidaTek is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support an exciting new DoD Program at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Systems Engineer to design, engineer, and deliver a modernized infrastructure to replace the current operational infrastructure that has reached end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the technical infrastructure as required to meet business needs with little or no supervision.
  • Provision VMs in the VMWare hypervisor, networking where needed, and learn Ribbon product to adequately test and deploy.
  • Support deployments from Scott AFB and maintain system in O&M (Tier 2/3).
  • Administer system updates and maintain security of system.
  • Provide first-level support and troubleshooting for incidents reported by system monitoring, change requests, users support tickets, or networking with IT peers.
Requirements
  • DoD Top Secret Required
  • 5+ years of experience managing federal IT network modernization work or system projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • Must have at least 2 years of systems engineering experience with Linux, in combination with Networking tools and/or VMWare.
  • Experience with Ribbon/Sonus SBC and VOIP - highly preferred.
  • Must have experience applying patches and applying change control best practices for validating production.
  • Knowledge of and experience with relational database systems and SQL tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the relationship between databases and other software and the interfaces necessary to facilitate a cohesive system.
  • Knowledge of and experience with system documentation and organization.
  • Knowledge of and experience with current technology and practices, including application and network security.
  • Knowledge and experience with personal computer hardware, including processors, motherboards, memory, hard disks, optical drives, and peripherals.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a professional demeanor and strong personal ethics.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to take ownership and complete assigned tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and provide solutions that result in gained efficiencies in business processes and improved customer service.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to interested parties of varying technical backgrounds.
  • IAT Level II Certification, Security Plus (Sec+).
  • Must be willing to be on site 3 days per week.
What We Offer

ValidaTek offers a competitive salary range of $79,648.00/Yr. to $132,746.67/Yr., based on a variety of factors including experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.

This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
