Position Title: Senior Project Manager
Role Summary:
The Senior Project Manager at Nautilus Solar Energy will play a crucial role in managing the development and construction of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across designated regions. As a key member of the operations team, you will oversee various stages of project execution, from initial planning to installation and ongoing maintenance. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Operations and is primarily remote, requiring occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of all assigned projects.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle from the signing of the MIPA through to construction, commissioning, and ongoing asset management support.
- Collaborate with Origination and Structuring teams to assess project viability.
- Drive process enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
- Lead internal teams to foster collaboration and successful project execution.
- Engage with external partners professionally to build beneficial relationships for project success.
- Review and manage all project documentation, including schedules, cost estimates, contracts, and invoices, ensuring timely updates.
- Maintain project data accuracy within the company’s software platform, with regular reviews.
- Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, ensuring comprehensive bid documentation and evaluation of proposals.
- Prepare and review contract documents, working closely with Legal and the Director of Operations.
- Manage all Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities.
- Conduct weekly EPC meetings and distribute minutes promptly.
- Supervise field operations to ensure projects are executed within budget and to quality standards.
- Perform site evaluations as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and process invoices in a timely manner.
- Fulfill assigned tasks and manage team members effectively.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, including PMP best practices and ISO9000 guidelines.
- Experience in managing solar PV projects with a proven track record in financial and schedule reporting.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining project documentation and correspondence.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of construction processes across electrical, civil, and structural disciplines.
- Understanding of OSHA and safety regulations applicable to site activities.
- Proficiency in project planning and management software, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to review schedules and budgets for accuracy.
- Experience in contract negotiation and establishing Design Build Contracts.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in the energy sector.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to work independently as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong emphasis on internal communication and teamwork.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
