Position Overview

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking enthusiastic seasonal Hosts to enhance our guest experience at Peaks of Otter Lodge in Bedford, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, managing the host station and ensuring a warm welcome.

Compensation

This position is tipped, and the hourly minimum wage mentioned does not include potential tips.

Hourly Rate: $12.15

Key Responsibilities
  • Review daily floor plans and reservation books to create seating arrangements.
  • Seat guests and manage wait times effectively.
  • Inspect dining and service areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
  • Engage with guests to confirm satisfaction with food and service, address complaints, and express gratitude as they depart.
  • Answer the restaurant telephone during operational hours.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a guest service role is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with guests and team members.
  • No high school diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain on feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to navigate between tables and around corners.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Shift Information

Day shifts, evening shifts, weekends, and holidays are required.
