Job Summary

At AdeIphi MedicaI Staffing, we are seeking a skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering direct nursing care to patients, under the guidance of RNs or physicians. This will involve tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring. You will also perform comprehensive patient assessments, involving physical exams, medical histories, and medication reviews, to craft personalized care plans. Additionally, you will administer prescribed medications and treatments meticulously, guaranteeing accurate dosing and adherence to established protocols. You will evaluate, clean, dress, and manage wounds, incisions, and injuries while actively monitoring for infection or complications. You will continuously monitor and meticulously document patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. You will maintain detailed and precise patient records, recording changes in their condition, administered treatments, and medication management. You will educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, prescribed medications, and self-care practices, with a focus on overall well-being. You will administer and closely monitor intravenous (IV) medications and fluids, ensuring proper insertion and functioning of IV lines. You will provide care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, routine maintenance, and diligent monitoring for complications. You will collect patient samples, such as blood, urine, and sputum, for subsequent laboratory testing and analysis. You will collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient care. You will address patient comfort and safety requirements, including positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management. You will respond swiftly and effectively during medical emergencies, adhering to established protocols and delivering basic life support as necessary. You will adhere rigorously to infection control procedures, encompassing proper hand hygiene and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent infections from spreading. You will safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies, in strict accordance with regulations and guidelines. You will foster health and wellness by promoting preventive care measures like vaccinations and screenings, and aiding with health assessments. You will advocate for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support. You will stay current on nursing best practices, regulations, and advancements through ongoing education and training. In certain cases, you may supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) or unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
