About the Job

Penske is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle maintenance techniques and technologies
Requirements
  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
  • Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • The associate must be able to safely work in all weather conditions.
  • Given the frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace, the associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
