About the Job

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Design Engineer to join our team in Hawaii. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and engineering overhead and underground electric distribution systems for our main electric utility client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed design and engineering calculations of overhead and underground electric distribution systems to comply with client standards and industry standards.
  • Verify Bill of Materials meet design and client requirements.
  • Design distribution projects with neatness and a small margin for error using PLS-CADD, O-Calc, SPIDA-Calc, or Pole Foreman software.
  • Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop/flicker and pulling tension calculations.
  • Conduct electrical design review meetings and provide minutes.
  • Interface with project management and designers during the design phase.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with the supervising engineer, client, and other stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 0-6 years of experience working in distribution design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
  • Experience with reading pole loading sheets and inputting information to O-Calc software.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distribution design and construction standards for Hawaiian Electric.
  • 3+ years of experience with O-Calc Software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
