The Claims Analyst is responsible for overseeing straightforward, non-complex Medical Only workers' compensation claims as well as more intricate Lost Time claims. This role operates within the company's established best practices and under the limited authority delegated to achieve optimal outcomes, all while being directly supervised by a senior claims professional. The Claims Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the objectives of the claims department at CorVel.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receives and processes claims, confirming policy coverage and acknowledgment of the claim Evaluates the validity and compensability of claims Sets reserves and authorizes payments within established limits Manages straightforward medical-only claims and more complex lost-time workers' compensation claims Communicates the status of claims to customers, claimants, and clients Follows client and carrier guidelines and participates in claims reviews as necessary Maintains regular and consistent attendance Adheres to all safety regulations during working hours in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ("IIPP") Undertakes additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Strong written and verbal communication abilities Quick learner with the capacity to develop knowledge of claims practices Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues Competent in computer applications and technical skills, particularly with MS Office including Excel Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational capabilities Ability to meet or exceed performance standards Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience At least 3 years of experience in the industry with a focus on claims management preferred

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, and salary ranges may differ based on geographic location. Pay rates are determined by various factors, including federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges are subject to change.

For roles with different levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be placed at a different level based on assessments conducted during the interview process, considering experience, qualifications, and overall suitability for the position. The level may influence the salary range, and these details will be clarified during the offer process.

Salary Range: $50,593 – $81,593
